Sloe Data Connector

The Sloe Data connector gives Claude, ChatGPT and Codex read-only access to licensed U.S. credit union data from Sloe Data: financials, peer benchmarking, mergers, regulatory data, CUSO and vendor relationships, HMDA mortgage lending and more.

Endpoint

https://mcp.sloedata.com/data-mcp

The earlier address, https://cu-wire-mcp.vercel.app/data-mcp, serves the same connector and keeps working for existing setups.

Connect Claude

Add Sloe Data from the Claude connectors directory, or add it as a custom connector with the endpoint above. Claude opens a Sloe Data sign-in page. Approve read-only access and you return to Claude. To test the connection, ask Claude for the current U.S. credit union industry summary from Sloe Data.

In Claude Code, the Sloe Data plugin adds the connector and usage guidance:

/plugin marketplace add Bluejhay/cu-wire-data-plugins
/plugin install sloe-data@sloe-data

Connect ChatGPT

The ChatGPT directory submission is being prepared. Once the listing is available, select Sloe Data and then Connect. ChatGPT opens a Sloe Data sign-in page. Approve read-only access and you return to ChatGPT. To test the connection, ask ChatGPT for the current U.S. credit union industry summary from Sloe Data.

Connect Codex

Use the Codex CLI in Terminal on the computer running Codex. This connection does not require Git or Xcode.

codex mcp add sloe-data --url https://mcp.sloedata.com/data-mcp
codex mcp login sloe-data

If the server is already registered, only run the login command. Sign in to your Sloe Data account, approve access, then restart Codex or open a new task. Ask Codex to use sloedata_get_industry_summary to test the connection.

Any paid Sloe Data plan includes the connector: Individual, Organization or Data Access. Your Sloe Data email does not have to match your Claude, ChatGPT or Codex account email.

Authentication

Claude, ChatGPT and Codex connect with OAuth: sign in to Sloe Data, approve read-only access, and return to the assistant client. Existing API customers can instead send a Sloe Data API key in an Authorization header.

Authorization: Bearer <token>

Research tools

The connection provides 15 read-only tools. Use sloedata_list_datasets and sloedata_get_dataset to discover and read the full research catalog, including HMDA, CUSOs, CU acquisitions of banks, regulatory data, leadership, fees, Canadian institutions, rankings and markets. Use sloedata_get_hmda for mortgage lending and annual history.

Tools named with the earlier cuwiredata_ prefix still work for existing integrations.

Data Boundary

The connector is read-only. It does not publish editorial content, modify records, create transactions, access subscriber sessions, or expose admin tools.

License Boundary

The connector can be installed publicly, but data access requires a paid Sloe Data account. Bulk files and direct API keys remain part of Data Access. See sloedata.com/pricing. Do not place API keys in URLs, prompts, screenshots, tickets, or public repositories.

If authentication or licensing fails, reconnect Sloe Data before answering the request. Do not substitute public NCUA data, cached data, model memory, or any fallback dataset for a licensed Sloe Data result.

Usage Boundary

The connector is intended for interactive research, small result-set lookup, and source-aware analysis. Bulk export, warehouse sync, scheduled scraping, resale, redistribution, and custom managed integrations require a separate Sloe Data license.

Answering Boundary

Assistant answers should preserve the returned period, as-of date, and source context. If the licensed tool call fails, the assistant should report the connection problem and stop. The connector does not provide legal, investment, regulatory, or safety-and-soundness advice.

Support

Connector support covers authentication, tool availability, and returned-data interpretation. It does not include broad custom analysis or customer-specific data engineering. Email info@thecreditunionwire.com.
